Quindio is one of the major coffee producing regions in Colombia, located on the western side of the Andes Mountain Range close to the Quindío Volcano. The regions surrounding this range are known to offer excellent growing conditions for coffee and have been collectively termed as the coffee belt of Colombia.

This regional coffee is comprised of lots from farmers in the Calarca, Cordoba, Genova and Pijao municipalities. This coffee is processed using the washed method to highlight the nuanced flavours typical of this region. The washed process involves removing the coffee cherry from the seeds, followed by washing the seeds in water to remove any excess fruit. Drying is achieved through patio drying or mechanical dryers. In contrast to naturally processed coffees, washed coffees generally have a cleaner flavour profile, highlighting the acidity and sweetness of the coffees.
